According to court documents, the TV star, whose birth name is Judith Sheindlin, claimed attorney John Haymond ran ads on television and on the Internet featuring her likeness, even after being notified in 2013 by Judge Judy’s producers that the advertisements weren’t approved by Sheindlin.

Haymond later countersued Sheindlin, claiming her lawsuit had defamed him.

The exact terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but Sheindlin indicated in a statement that her mentoring program would benefit.

In a statement released Friday, Sheindlin said, “I am pleased to report that the parties have reached an amicable resolution of their claims against each other which will solely benefit the girls of Her Honor Mentoring Program.”
