Pardo is strongly associated with NBC, and in particular its sketch-comedy program Saturday Night Live. He served as the announcer for SNL for virtually its entire run, beginning with its premiere season in 1975. Pardo did not participate in the show’s seventh season.

During his distinguished career, Pardo also lent his voice to several game shows, including early versions of Jeopardy! and The Price Is Right.

Pardo, who began his relationship with NBC as a radio broadcaster in the 1940s, also worked on various NBC news programs.

His fame carried him to a number of guest appearances in the entertainment field, including in the Woody Allen film Radio Days, in the NBC comedy 30 Rock, and on albums by Frank Zappa and “Weird Al” Yankovic.

Pardo was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Hall of Fame in 2010.

Pardo is survived by five children.
