“We have determined that the security of our card processing systems was compromised, and we have reason to believe that the intruder may have stolen some data from certain credit and debit cards that were used during the specified time frames at 33 P.F. Chang’s China Bistro branded restaurant locations in the continental United States,” the company said Monday in a written statement.

The U.S. Secret Service alerted the restaurant chain to the data breach on June 10, according to the statement, prompting P.F. Chang’s to immediately initiate an investigation including third-party forensics experts. Since June 11, the company says, credit and debit card data has been processed without compromise.

Though the incident has been contained, the company says other locations or time frames for security breach could be uncovered during the ongoing investigation.  Customers are advised to check the company’s security site periodically for future updates.
