Report: Jay Z and Beyoncé’s Marriage, Tour Might Not Survive
(NEW YORK) -- The rumors have been out there for a while, but now the New York Post describes Jay Z and Beyoncé's marriage as "rapidly imploding," and reports the couple's On The Run tour might be canceled before its scheduled finale in Paris in September.
The drama is so bad, the paper claims, that an emergency meeting was held Thursday that featured the power couple, representatives from HBO, and the tour's backers Live Nation -- as well as, "no less than four lawyers." HBO is planning to do a special on the tour in September.
One source tells the Post that Jay and Bey are staying in separate hotels and arrive "separately to each show."
The tour rolls into San Francisco this week. The source tells the Post, "There are lawyers that have now joined the tour, and they’re not here just to see them perform. They are here to help hash things out."
The insider says one of the problems in the marriage is Jay Z's controlling nature.
Considering how much hype Jay and Bey's coupling attracted, their uncoupling likely will be no different -- if it comes to pass.
"They've had discussions lately about the inevitable sit-down interview when they finally do split, and Jay’s been adamant that he doesn't want Beyoncé sitting down with Barbara Walters or Oprah Winfrey pretending to be the victim," according to the source, who isn't sure the mega-rich parents of Blue Ivy have a prenup.
