(LOS ANGELES) — As the host of the 66th Annual Emmy Awards, it was safe to say Seth Meyers had a full plate Monday night — however he made time to take the Ice Bucket Challenge.
On a video posted to his Instagram account just moments after the telecast ended, the Saturday Night Live vet-turned Late Night host stripped off his tuxedo jacket and said, “I accept the ALS challenge from Jessica Biel and my cousin Ben Olsen — and I nominate Vladimir Putin,” before getting doused with the icy water.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge calls for nominated participants to pour ice water over their heads within 24 hours or donate $100 to help find a cure for ALS, the progressive degenerative nerve disease commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. As of Monday, more than $79 million has been raised by this year’s campaign.
