It is the third time in the last four years that an international team has won it all in Williamsport.

Don Wan Sin scored twice and homered for the Asia-Pacific region champs while Jae Yeong Hwang drove in a pair of runs as well in the victory. Hwang started the game on the mound, but exited after allowing one hit in two innings because he was not feeling well.

Hae Chan Choi pitched the final four innings in relief for South Korea, which won it’s third LLWS title and the first since going back-to-back in 1984 and 1985.

Jackie Robinson West, the little league squad from outside Chicago, had won four consecutive knockout games to reach the championship tilt. That included a 7-5 win over Las Vegas in the United States title game in which they rallied from 3-0 and 5-4 deficits.
