Union Pacific Train Derails in Blackfoot

(BLACKFOOT, ID) – A train derailed in Blackfoot Tuesday morning. Authorities say the northbound Union Pacific train came off its tracks near Broadway and U.S. Highway 91 at around 11:15 a.m.
About eight empty freight cars had to be hoisted back into place by a crane. Crews from Union Pacific and the city of Blackfoot worked for several hours to clear the scene.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
