West Nile Confirmed in Bingham County

(BLACKFOOT, ID) – West Nile Virus is back in eastern Idaho. Public health officials have confirmed the presence of the virus in mosquito pools in Bingham County.
Other cases have been reported in five southwest Idaho counties, including the Boise area. The infection spreads through animals and humans, and is potentially lethal for those with weaker immune systems.
Experts advise residents to drain all standing water around their homes and to use mosquito repellent with DEET.
