Apartments, Businesses Destroyed in Monarch Fire

(POCATELLO, ID) – Last week’s fire at the Monarch building in Pocatello destroyed 13 apartments and two businesses.
Authorities are still working to determine what caused the blaze, which started early Friday. Crews remained at the scene for the entire day to ensure that the fire didn’t reignite and spread to the buildings next door.
One of the tenants thought she’d lost her heirloom wedding rings, but firefighters managed to pull them out of the ashes intact.
The American Red Cross is assisting those impacted with food, clothing, and housing.
