Apple Tightening iCloud Security After Celebrity Hacks
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — Apple is going to tighten iCloud security after hackers breached the accounts of some celebrities and posted private pictures online.
Apple CEO Tim Cook denies a lax attitude about security allowed hackers to post nude pictures of celebrities online. Still, he told the Wall Street Journal that Apple will now start sending out email alerts and push notifications when someone changes an iCloud password or logs in from an unknown device.
The company is pushing to reassure customers about security ahead of the expected announcement of a new iPhone next week.
