Wren had been with the Braves organization for 15 seasons, and has served as the team’s general manager since 2007.

Team president John Schuerholz has named John Hart as the team’s interim general manager.

Even though the Braves have been competitive under Wren, they’ve had multiple September collapses and have had little postseason success.

Under Wren, the Braves won just three playoff games since 2007 and have not advanced further than the NLDS.

While the dismissal of Wren has been confirmed, there are multiple reports that the Braves going to retain manager Fredi Gonzalez.

The Braves have formed a three-person team to conduct the search for their next general manager. The committee will include Schuerholz, Hart and former Braves manager Bobby Cox.
