Entering Friday, the Diamondbacks sit at 59-81 and 19 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.

Towers first season with the team was a success as they won the NL West after going 94-68, but that was as good as it got for Towers in Arizona. The team went 81-81 the next two seasons, and this year they have a last-place squad.

Towers traded away players like Justin Upton, Adam Eaton, Gerardo Parra, Ian Kennedy, Trevor Bauer, and Martin Prado. Yet the team has seen very little return from trading away these players. As a result, the club’s performance on the field has suffered.

What is even more alarming is that many of those players have found success since being traded away that they never had while playing for the club.

It is unknown if manager Kirk Gibson will be brought back or not.
