At O’Hare, many of the thousands of passengers who were stranded on Friday stayed the night, hoping they could still travel to their destination on Saturday.

As of Saturday morning, O’Hare had a total of 608 cancellations and 114 delays.

The Federal Aviation Administration says it “expects to continue to increase the traffic flow” at O’Hare and Midway over the weekend.

The contract employee accused of starting the fire at an FAA facility is 36-year-old Brian Howard of Naperville, Ill. On Friday he was charged with one count of Destruction of Aircraft or Aircraft Facilities. He could face up to 20 years in prison.

Clean up at the site of the fire started Saturday morning, the FAA reports.
