(POCATELLO, ID) – A Pocatello school teacher charged with driving under the influence earlier this year had four different drugs in her system at the time of her arrest.

A toxicology report revealed that Amy Smith was taking sleeping pills, antidepressants, and psychosis medication. Smith hit a crossing guard while pulling into the parking lot on the last day of school.

Smith’s attorney says prosecutors have thus far failed to make a convincing case that Smith’s actions warrant the felony charge against her. Prosecutors say Smith can avoid a trial and a costly legal defense if she’s willing to make a plea agreement.
