FlightAware says that 717 flights were cancelled at Chicago O’Hare International Airport and 49 more were cancelled at Chicago’s Midway International Airport. Another 33 flights into or out of O’Hare were delayed, and 11 flights were delayed on the way to or from Midway.

On Saturday night, the Federal Aviation Administration said flights were being “managed” due to Friday’s incident involving a fire in an air traffic control building. The equipment in the building apparently suffered damage from both the fire and the water released by the sprinkler system. Air traffic could be delayed for days or even weeks.
