Miss Idaho Voted ‘America’s Choice’
Published at | Updated atATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Miss Idaho Sierra Sandison, of Twin Falls, was chosen by social media voters as America’s Choice Sunday night at the Miss America Pageant. She also made it to the semifinals, a feat that a Miss Idaho had not done since the 1970’s.
Sandison was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes two years ago. She drew national attention after wearing her insulin pump during previous competitions, including during the swimsuit portions. Something she did again for the Miss America Pageant.
Miss New York Kira Kazantsev was named the new Miss America on Sunday night
Other finalists were Miss Arkansas Ashton Jo Campbell; Miss Florida Victoria Cowen; and Miss Massachusetts Lauren Kuhn.
