Neil Patrick Harris Weds Longtime Partner

The Tony Award-winning actor announced the news via Twitter. “Guess what? @DavidBurtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the ‘n’ and ‘d’ in ‘husband,'” he tweeted Monday. The tweet is accompanied by a photo of the two apparently exchanging vows.
According to People magazine, the grooms were married by Pam Fryman, director of How I Met Your Mother, the same show on which Harris starred for nine seasons before it wrapped up earlier this year. The entertainment at the wedding reception was provided by none other than Elton John.
Harris and Burtka have been together since 2004 and are parents to fraternal twins, Harper and Gideon, whom they had via surrogate in October 2010.
