“Because my family & I haven’t been forthcoming with personal information, people are quick to paint negative pictures and spread rumours,” Cannon said in a tweet.

“For the record I NEVER have, nor will I make a statement regarding my marriage,” he added.

“So whatever your favorite gossip outlet is reporting has been created within their own imagination…At this difficult time I would ask all civilized people to please respect my family and this process…”

At the end of August, Cannon confirmed to The Insider that the couple had been living in separate homes.

On Wednesday, entertainer went on to defend his wife on social media, saying he, “will forever be in debted to her for blessing me…” with their children.

The pair married in 2008 and welcomed fraternal twins in 2011.

During the Twitter tirade, Cannon also criticized the media for portraying him as “the Bad guy,” calling outlets “bottom feeders” as he continued to express his love for Carey.
