Rodriguez has spent the vast majority of his baseball career in the minor leagues before getting called up by the Rangers — 13 seasons and 1,095 games to be exact.

In his second-career start, Rodriguez belted his first Major League hit with members of his family in attendance. As if that wasn’t a big enough moment for him, in the seventh inning he hit a two-out single to drive in outfielder Jake Smolinski for what proved to be the game-winning RBI.

“This is my second-best moment after seeing my two daughters born,” Rodriguez said. “It’s unbelievable. I feel great. My first big league hit, my first RBI, my father in the stands, my wife.”

After the game, Rodriguez received a Gotorade shower from teammate Elvis Andrus.
