X-Ray Reveals 43 Socks in Dog’s Stomach

iStock/Thinkstock(PORTLAND) — An animal hospital in Oregon applied for an award after removing dozens of socks from a Great Dane.

In February, 43.5 socks, of all different shapes and colors, were removed from the dog.

After an x-ray image of the dog’s stomach went viral, the Portland hospital used the picture in an award application.

Ashley Magee, staff surgeon at DoveLewis, says lots of dogs eat socks, but this was a record.

“We do remove articles of clothing often from dogs, but this certainly is a record holder,” she said.
