(ABERDEEN, ID) – The Aberdeen School District is expanding the harvest break. Heavy rains put many potato and beet farmers behind schedule, forcing administrators to extend the break by three days.

Bingham County farmers are largely dependent on the help of teenagers and teachers to get their crops out of the ground, sorted, and stored.

Classes will resume October 9.
