Americans Are Driven to Travel on Both Short and Long Breaks
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — You feel like driving?
About three-quarters of Americans said they do, provided it’s to a getaway destination.
That’s according to a survey by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which found that more than half of the respondents would drive as far as 300 miles — each way — just to get away on a weekend.
Many of those planning longer vacations also want to be in the driver’s seat. One in three said they’d be open to traveling over 900 miles each way by car.
The top reason why a majority of Americans enjoy driving to a leisure spot is because it puts them in control as to where and when they can go.
