Area Hospitals Prepping for Ebola
Published at | Updated at(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Eastern Idaho hospitals are preparing for the possibility of treating Ebola patients. EIRMC spokesperson Coleen Niemann says staff members routinely train for emergency situations involving major viruses like Ebola.
A suspected Ebola case was reported in Salt Lake City on Thursday, but officials say it’s unlikely, since the infected person had been in a part of Africa where the virus was not present.
A representative with the Eastern Idaho Public Health District says there’s no reason to be alarmed, since the virus is not airborne.
