Published at(BAGHDAD) — Two suicide car bombs detonated northwest of Baghdad on Saturday, killing at least 30 people and injuring 40 others.
Another vehicle bomb claimed the lives of numerous victims in the city of Kadhimiyah.
While it is unclear who is to blame for the attacks, the incidents come on the heels of the Anbar Provincial Council’s president calling for U.S. military intervention to help in the fight against ISIS.
Iraqi forces also foiled an ISIS attack against a base in Tikrit, north of Baghdad, involving seven suicide car bombs. Security crews managed to detonate three cars, and the other four went off by the base and killed two soldiers.
