Upon learning of the “malware intrusion,” the company launched an investigation that determined that about 395 locations — including one Orange Julius location — were victimized by the breach that impacted payment card data. The timeframe during which data was compromised varied depending on the location.

Dairy Queen says that customers’ names, card numbers and expiration dates were held on the systems that were breached. “The company has no evidence that other customer personal information, such as Social Security numbers, PINs or email addresses [were] compromised as a result of this malware infection,” a press release says.

John Gainor, the company’s president and CEO said that they are, “committed to working with and supporting our affected DQ and Orange Julius franchise owners to address this incident.”

A list of the impacted locations can be found on the Dairy Queen website.
