Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — Mark Zuckerberg will donate $25 million to help fight Ebola, the Facebook CEO said in a post on the social networking site on Tuesday.
Zuckerberg and his wife will donate the money to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Calling the current state of the Ebola epidemic “a critical turning point,” Zuckerberg highlighted the need to “get Ebola under control in the near term so that it doesn’t spread further and become a long term global health crisis that we end up fighting for decades at a large scale, like HIV or polio.”
