Giants Suffer Big Blow in Loss to Eagles
Published at(NEW YORK) — The New York Giants were shut out by the Philadelphia Eagles 27-0 during Sunday night’s football game.
That wasn’t the worst news as wide receiver Victor Cruz suffered a knee injury on a non-contact play in the third quarter. Cruz immediately grabbed his knee and could be seen fighting off tears.
It is believed that Cruz tore the patellar tendon in his right knee.
Quarterback Eli Manning was harrassed all night by the Eagles defense, and was sacked six times. The Giants could not find a rhythm all night as they could only muster 253 yards of total offense.
The Eagles soared as Nick Foles completed two touchdown passes, both to his tight ends; James Casey and Zach Ertz. Philadelphia also ran over the Giants as LeSean McCoy rushed for 149 yards on 22 carries.
