“Gone Girl,” “Annabelle,” “Left Behind” Open Friday

Ben Affleck in “Gone Girl.” (Fox)(NEW YORK) — Here’s a look at the new movies opening nationwide Friday:
Gone Girl — Ben Affleck is Nick Dunne, who on his fifth wedding anniversary reports his wife missing. He subsequently becomes the prime suspect in her disappearance. Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry also star in the adaptation of the best-selling Gillian Flynn novel. It was helmed by The Social Network director David Fincher. Rated R.
Annabelle — The prequel to last year’s hit horror film The Conjuring focuses on the creepy, possessed doll, Annabelle. Annabelle Wallis, Alfre Woodard, Ward Horton, Tony Amendola, Eric Ladin and Brian Howe star. Rated R.
Left Behind — After the Rapture strikes, an airplane pilot, played by Nicolas Cage, tries to fly his aircraft and his passengers to safety. Chad Michael Murray, Cassi Thomson, Nicky Whelan, Jordin Sparks and Lea Thompson also star. Rated PG-13.
