BOISE, Idaho (AP) – The Miss Caldwell Night Rodeo Queen and former Boise State University Bronco girl who faces a felony grand theft charge has waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that 23-year-old Chelsi Ann Horton entered the decision Wednesday and is next scheduled to appear in 4th District Court on Nov. 3.

Ada County Sheriff’s Office detectives say Horton embezzled $22,000 while working as a bookkeeper for a company based in Canyon County.

Horton’s attorney says the company where Horton worked fell behind on its taxes and was being investigated by the Internal Revenue Service.

Attorney Dennis Sallaz says he’s confident Horton will be found innocent of all charges.
