Idaho Student Running to Catch Bus Hit by Pickup

PAYETTE, Idaho (AP) – Authorities say a 13-year-old southwest Idaho boy is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle as he ran to catch a school bus.

The Argus Observer reports that the Payette Middle School student was crossing U.S. Highway 95 on Thursday morning when he was struck by a northbound pickup.

Payette Police Chief Mark Clark says the boy was flown to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Names haven’t been released.
