Jenny Lake in Grand Teton Closing for Upgrades

GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) – Large parts of the Jenny Lake area in Grand Teton National Park will be closed to the public this week.
The Jackson Hole News and Guide reports that the closures are to give helicopters room to haul in heavy material for a trails project.
The closures begin Monday and will continue through at least Thursday.
Jenny Lake is one of the park’s most popular destinations.
Closed areas include some of the park’s busiest in the mouth of Cascade Canyon, including trails to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point.
Lakeshore paths leading to the canyon from the Jenny Lake boat launch area will also be closed to all public access.
The $17 million overhaul to Jenny Lake trails and visitor services will wrap up in 2016 or 2017.
