Oladipo suffered the injury in his right knee after landing awkwardly during a scrimmage on Friday. Frye suffered the same injury in his left knee during a scrimmage.

Magic head coach Jaque Vaughn said, “It’s not ideal and we’d love to have all 15 guys ready to rock and roll, participating and learning each other, but that’s not where we are. But you know we won’t complain and we’ll keep this thing rolling.”

“It gives an opportunity for other guys to understand how we want to play,” he continued.

It is unknown just when either player will be ready to return to the court, or if either will be ready to play when the team opens up the regular season on Oct. 28.

Oladipo was the runner-up in last season’s Rookie of the Year voting after he averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.

Frye is entering his ninth NBA season and his first with the Magic.
