Man Fined for Yellowstone Drone Incident
Published at | Updated at(WEST YELLOWSTONE, MT) – An Oregon man has been fined $1,000 for flying a drone in Yellowstone National Park.
Donald Criswell admitted to flying the drone Aug. 19 in the Midway Geyser Basin.
In June, federal authorities banned unmanned aircraft in all national parks. Special exemptions remain in place for non-profit and commercial filmmakers with permits.
Criswell was the third person to be cited in Yellowstone since the ban was put in place.
