(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper is speaking out about the controversial arrest of a former Tautphaus Park zoo keeper.

Raymond Probert of Pocatello had been employed with the zoo for 18 years before being fired Sept. 4. He’s accused of sexually abusing a teenage volunteer. The zoo immediately reported the alleged misconduct to police. If convicted, Probert could face life in prison.

Casper maintains that the city is undertaking steps to ensure the safety of employees and zoo patrons alike.
