Mississippi Falls to 7th in AP Poll

SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1414400679396Football Texture/iStockphoto(NEW YORK) — Following a 10-7 loss at 24th ranked Louisiana State, the Mississippi Rebels fell to 7th in the latest Associated Press poll, which was revealed on Sunday. Ole Miss (7-1) had been ranked third in the nation before suffering its first loss of the season on Saturday night.

Both Mississippi State (7-0) and Florida State (7-0) remained unbeaten over the weekend and stayed at 1 and 2 in the poll respectively. Alabama (7-1) replaced Ole Miss as the number three team in the country while Auburn (6-1) and Oregon (7-1) finished out the top five.

Coming off a bye week, the Notre Dame Fightin’ Irish (6-1) moved up one spot to sixth, followed by the Rebels. Michigan State (7-1) remained eighth while Georgia (6-1) and TCU (6-1) each stayed in the top-10.

The biggest jump in the poll was LSU (7-2), which moved up to 16th in the poll. Southern California, which had been ranked 20th, fell out of the top-25 after a loss to Utah over the weekend.
