Muslims Upset About Trashed Qurans

(POCATELLO, ID) – Pocatello Muslims are furious that several copies of the Quran were thrown away this week.
Daniel Hummel of the Islamic Society of Southeast Idaho tells KPVI that the books and other tax documents were tossed into the garbage by a former landlord. The group just moved into a new mosque on South 5th Avenue, but is still renting space at their old mosque near Albertson’s through the end of October.
The landlord, Elaine Budge, hired a cleaner to remove any excess furniture left behind. Budge says she thought the group had completely moved out, since they’d posted a sign on their door saying their location had changed.
Police are investigating the incident to determine if any charges should be filed.
