The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday afternoon that Harris will host the 87th Oscars ceremony on Feb. 22, 2015.

Harris confirmed the news with an online video in which he says into a cellphone, “I’m in.” The camera then pans over to his bucket list, on which he circles the final item, “Host the Oscars.” Above it are several items that are already checked off, such as “Meet the president,” “Have children” and “Get married.”

Harris later released the following statement: “It is truly an honor and a thrill to be asked to host this year’s Academy Awards. I grew up watching the Oscars and was always in such awe of some of the greats who hosted the show. To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true.”

Previously, the How I Met Your Mother star hosted the Emmy Awards twice and the Tony Awards four times.

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will produce the Oscars telecast for the third consecutive year. ABC will air the show live.

The 2014 Oscars, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, aired last March 2.
