Ole Miss and Mississippi State Storm into Top 5
Published at(NEW YORK) — The state of Mississippi has two teams in the top 3 in the latest college football AP Coaches poll.
In a week that saw 11 ranked teams lose, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are tied at number 3 after each team defeated a fellow SEC program.
While the value of the coaches poll has been significantly diminished with the inaugural college football playoff system that will choose four participants via a 13 person panel, the accomplishment is still a unique feat for the Magnolia State.
Other teams to make significant moves this week include TCU jumping from 25 to No. 9 after a victory over then-No. 4 Oklahoma, and Arizona moving from an unranked spot to No. 10 after a stunning upset against then-No. 2 Oregon.
