After Caldwell-Pope fell underneath Washington’s basket, he needed assistance getting back to the locker room.

“We’ll re-evaluate it going forward,” Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy said. “We’ll get him an MRI and we’ll go from there [to] see what’s going on. …You go through these things, everybody goes through them.”

After averaging 5.9 points per game last season as a rookie, Caldwell-Pope was averaging 16.7 points in the Piston’s first three preseason games.

Caldwell-Pope was the eighth overall selection by the Pistons back in 2013 out of Georgia. He was primed to see an expanded role behind Jodie Meeks in the guard rotation.

It is unknown just how long he’ll be out of action as the Pistons begin their regular season on Oct. 29.
