(POCATELLO, ID) – Pocatello Police are trading old firearms for new ones.

KPVI reports that the department is trading used firearms valued at about $3,600 as equity toward a $13,000 purchase from Primary Weapons Systems of Boise. Police are buying 10 new service rifles.

The old guns were confiscated or turned in by people who didn’t want them anymore over the past several years. Although the department wasn’t sure what will happen to the old guns, they have documented each firearm to ensure that they aren’t connected to any ongoing investigations.
