A trio of siblings from Catherington, England, each received letters from the royals after they sent postcards to them while on vacation in Italy.

Maia Reid, 8, wrote a letter to Queen Elizabeth, while her 6-year-old twin brothers Alex and Finlay, wrote a letter to 1-year-old Prince George, according to The News, a newspaper in Portsmouth.

“When I was at home Alex got a letter first and then Finlay got one. I was waiting for my letter and I thought it wouldn’t come,” Maia told the newspaper.

“And then one day I came home from school and there was a letter so I opened it and it was from the Queen,” she said. “I was very happy because I waited for ages for it to come. I feel very special.”

Maia’s letter technically came not from Queen Elizabeth but from one of her Ladies-in-Waiting, the group of women who help the Queen with her correspondence and personal and private matters, according to the Monarchy’s website.

Maia’s younger brothers, who wrote to Prince George, each received a letter sent on behalf of George’s parents, Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.

William and Kate, who are expecting their second child, also included a souvenir photo of their family in the letters, according to The News.

“I feel very happy,” Alex told the newspaper.
