But in a preview clip from his upcoming appearance on Thursday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actor seems to confirm that he will return again as Tony Stark.

“Will there be a fourth Iron Man?” host Ellen DeGeneres asks the actor, whose new movie The Judge opens on Friday.

“Uh, I know there’s gonna be a bunch more Marvel movies and they have big ideas of how to do it best,” he replies evasively. “And, y’know, we’re in the middle of negotiation…blah blah blah.”

“So, yes,” DeGeneres responds.

“Okay…yes!” Downey admits.

“Okay, good!” says DeGeneres, to wild applause from the audience.

Iron Man 3, released in 2013, grossed an estimated $1.2 billion. Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1, 2015.
