(POCATELLO, ID) – An attorney from a firm representing an embattled Pocatello teacher says her client was jailed for violating her probation.

Amy Smith, who was arrested for driving under the influence in May, admitted Tuesday that she was also driving without privileges. The latter violation put her in jail for 30 days.

KPVI reports that Smith will continue to be paid on administrative leave and her status with the school district has not changed, even behind bars.

Smith will face a jury trial on her felony DUI charge in December.
