In the sketch, Rivers roasts other deceased celebrities, including Lucille Ball, comedian Richard Pryor, actress Ava Gardner, former Apple CEO Steve Jobs and former Queen lead vocalist Freddie Mercury.

Of Jobs, Rivers quips, “Steve, I hope you’re forced to buy a new and better casket every six months, so you can see how we feel.”

A little later, she expresses disbelief that people, upon his death, were shocked to find out Mercury was gay. She tells the rocker, played by musical guest Maroon 5’s frontman and The Voice judge Adam Levine, “You’re so gay even your teeth aren’t straight.”

In an homage to Rivers’ biting wit, Silverman closes the sketch by declaring, “Comedy is to make us laugh and to deal with things. So open up the gates, let me in here.”
