Stanford Looks to Rebound Against Washington State

Getty Stanford David Shaw?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1412774557629Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images(STANFORD, Calif.) — After a tough 17-14 loss to Notre Dame last weekend, the (25) Cardinal will look to get back on their winning ways against Washington State on Friday night.

The Cardinal defense has allowed 36 points this season and just four offensive touchdowns. Opposing teams have averaged 38 rushing attempts per game.

“An offense like that, you give them a lot of opportunities, they’re going to throw for 700 yards, score 50 something points,” head coach David Shaw said of the explosive Cougar offense.  “If you give them less opportunities then you make it almost impossible for them to do that and now you’re playing in one of those close games.”

Stanford is 39-4 at home since 2007, when the stadium opened.
