Stein Seeking Probe Against Packer

(POCATELLO, ID) – The Democratic candidate for Bannock County Assessor wants the state to conduct an investigation into his incumbent opponent, Dave Packer.
Jared Stein tells the Idaho State Journal that Packer has unethically used his office for personal gain. Packer, who also sells real estate, is accused of temporarily lowering the assessed value of his rental properties, then turning around and selling them for hundreds of thousands more than the appraised amount.
Packer says he would welcome an investigation from the Idaho Attorney General, and maintains that he’s done nothing wrong.
