LAL Nash Steve? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1412603166156NBA via Los Angeles Lakers(NEW YORK) — Even though Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash has had to battle to stay on the court in recent years, with one year left on his contract he’s open to playing beyond the 2014-2015 season.

At 40 years old, Nash is the already the oldest player in the NBA. He appeared in just 15 games for the Lakers last season, and just 50 the season before that.

Nash was expected by many to retire once his current contract expires, but he left the door open for extending his career beyond this season.

“If I have a chance to play, it would have to be here. I’m not going to at this stage move somewhere else for a season and move my kids there,” Nash told the Los Angeles Daily News of the possibility of playing longer.

Nash is a two-time league MVP and is likely headed to the Hall of Fame one day. This past season, Nash averaged 6.8 points and 5.7 assists per game.
