Florida State (8-0, 5-0 ACC) has now won 24 straight.

It looked early like there was no stopping the Cardinals, especially running back Michael Dyer. Dyer had two second quarter touchdown runs, the second giving Louisville a 14-0 lead. Will Gardner then threw an 11 yard touchdown to Gerald Christian to put the Birds up by 21.

But the second half was a different story. After a Louisville field goal made it 24-7, Florida State scored 21 unanswered points, 12 coming off the arm of Jameis Winston, to take the lead. The Cardinals regained the lead on Dyer’s third touchdown dash of the day, but Seminoles freshman running back Dalvin Cook’s 38-yard touchdown run with 3:46 remaining put FSU up for good.

“We’ve been there before,” Winston said. “Being down is nothing when you’ve got heart and you persevere. Personally, we play better when we’re down, honestly.”

Dyer finishes the day with 134 yards rushing and those three touchdowns for Louisville (6-3, 4-3 ACC).

Winston completes 25-of-48 passes for 401 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in the loss.

Next up for the second-ranked ‘Noles: a visit from Virginia next Saturday.
