The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 274.83 to finish the day at 16,994.22.

The Nasdaq jumped 83.39 to 4,468.59, while the S&P 500 closed a 1,968.89, a gain of 33.79 from its opening value.

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday released the minutes from its last meeting, in which the decision was made to keep short-term interest rates low. While the minutes showed some debate, they also indicated that no fundamental shift in policy is imminent.
