West Virginia Upsets No. 4 Baylor

Mountaineers quarterback Clint Tricket led the West Virginia aerial attack, completing 23 of 35 passes for 322 yards and 3 touchdowns. His top target on the day was receiver Kevin White who caught 2 of those touchdown passes and racked up 132 yards on 8 catches.

Baylor put forth a mistake filled effort.  With 18 penalties for 215 yards the Bears broke a Big 12 record for most penalty yards in a single game.

The West Virginia defense also put forth a marvelous effort.  Baylor came into the game as the country’s number 3 ranked offense, averaging 623 yards per game.  Today the Bears were held to 318 yards of total offense. The Mountaineers also sacked Bear’s quarterback Bryce Petty four times and held the prolific passer to 223 yards through the air.
